The “solidarity fields” is an experiment that began a year ago in a village in Viotia, 60klm far from Athens. Refugees and solidarity rent abandoned land and cultivate for their own food. The vision is refugees to be able to feed themselves and not depend on charity. Refugees participating in the fields are excited, because they have a chance to be close to nature and to deal with something creative. Some of them were farmers in their homelands and are now easily adapted.  Men and women participate equally in jobs and decisions
